I was in the emergency room one time, arrived by ambulance from a motorcycle accident, didnt have my insurance card with me. The way they treated me then was very different from the nice, professional care I got an hour later when my wife showed up with my insurance card.

Didn't say it was a good safety net. lol. The hospitals for one hate it. But it is really the only true safety net that applies to all states, otherwise a lot of it is handled differently state to state.
