you are absolutely wrong. we live in the worlds most litigious society. its because of people who think exactly like you do and the system that allows it. you have a very backwards view of the legal system and the indirect consequences of stupid lawsuits. for example, doctors all across the USA are shutting down their practices daily because they can't even afford the insurance to operate a business. their not the only ones. you're wrong in your comments... frivolous lawsuits hurt everyone and they create a lot of victems.

in addition to that, you are talking about a pointless lawsuit where there are no real damages and only the attorneys win anyway.
How are there no real damages? Is she not hurt? What if it costs her days at work? What do you consider damages?

I agree that lawsuits are out of hand, I never said they weren't. But I also believe that there are situations where they are necessary. If someone blows up my house because they weren't careful with a firecracker, do I not have a right to sue for damages? If someone builds me a house and the roof collapses on me and paralyzes me, do I not have a right to sue?

It just seems like you want a world where no one is held responsible for anything. You can do whatever you want, hurt whoever you want, steal whatever you want, and it doesn't matter. I just fail to see how society would be better if people had even less responsibility for their actions knowing there were no consequences.
