Highest electric bill I've had in almost 6 years is $160 and that's electric EVERYTHING - hot water, cooking, heat and AC.....I have propane for my backup generator, auxillary heater and gas logs. about 2300 sq with a vaulted ceiling for the top two floors. Log homes are GREAT insulators and I have a ton of hardwood trees that shade during the summer

I have double paned windows too.
I fill the propane tank about once a year - $1.49 per gal last fill, 330 gallons (300 gallons really because they don't fill over 90%). I could cut that down a lot by not starting the fireplace everytime it drops below 50 degrees

Water is included in our HOA fees - $300ish a year for water for everyone who has a house - works out great for the 1/2 of us who live here full time, sucks for those who have vacation homes. Septic tank so no sewer fees. Garbage collection also included in HOA fees but we have to take our trash to the dumpsters.
When I lived in the burbs I had to pay something like $3 a month for street lights
