Coming from a corporate background, I initially found working from home to be liberating - no more commuting or office politics
However, after some 10 years or so of 'SOHO' working, I sometimes do miss working with a group, but GFY and other boards do act as a virtual water cooler, which helps.
One of the challenges I face are the weekends. After spending untold hours behind a PC, I just want to get out and about in the 'real' world - whereas my little boy Jamie (6), who has been at school all week, (understandably) simply wants to chill.
It seems we are going full circle. Thanks to information technology, more and more of us are working where we live, just like we used to before the industrial revolution.
Despite some drawbacks, there is no turning back...
