Well when you spend years getting the shit kicked out of you, and kicking the shit out of yourself over it, sometimes it can later on feel good to be proud about who you are and say fuck it. I am what I am.
A lot of gay teens commit suicide over it, do give you the idea of some of the shit people go through being gay.
Not everyone lives in the castro or in nyc where no one cares, a lot of gays live in conservative areas where they have to lie and put up a front and basically live a lie. That can really fuck you up mentally. Always lying about dating girls and trying to get along with straight family members and straight coworkers. I hated being around people and fucking hated family gatherings. Hated when people would ask me questions about my life.
If you've never been opressed then you can't relate.
Ive lost a good paying programming job over being gay and getting harassed at work. It's not fun.
I still literally have nightmares over high school and that was 15 years ago.
I wont go into my relationship with my family over it.
