It's already happened.
Some of us old folks remember it.
Hell, where I live, they used to drive a train through town and toss the mail bag out and you tried to toss one back to them on their way back through. I seriously doubt daily delivery was an option
Even now we live in such a rough road area the mail for our entire subdivision is delivered at the front gate. I've gone days (weeks?) w/o checking it.
