Looking at that film my cynical side wonders if the dad does it for himself or for his son (especially considering the soundtrack) - a friend of mine has a daughter in her 20's with muscular dystrophy, and he is totally proud and supportive of her, and yet never, ever, would he seek sympathy for her condition, nor for how much he sacrifices for her.
Nonetheless, thank you for sharing, because the empathetic side of me rejoices that we are all capable of unconditional love...
