The 1000:1 Contrast Ratio was the only thing I was worried about because people said that was low. to be honest I just moved over to HD Tv so it's all good to me. I don't watch a ton of TV (to the point that I'm a movie buff or could appreciate the top quality out there) Plus the fact that my 9 year old should be happy he has a TV in the play room at all ..

all I had growing up was a 13" and i was happy it was color ...
