Agreed, it's a fantastic movie.
BUT....
Even better than the movie, itself, is the documentary film 'bonus feature' on the dvd. I HIGHLY recommend renting the dvd, just to see the doc. It is incredible. 
They take cameras deeeeeep in the favelas, and into homes, incredible interviews with gangsters, police officers, etc.

yup, the documentary was very good but also made it almost too real
City of Men was fun too but in a different and less violent way.
