Yes, there are alternative payment methods besides Visa, but every "sorry, we don't support that" step reduces the potential of a sale. Some people will not have access to other options.
If it's a cash flow prob then sign up to Verotel and use it for your internal signups (NOT for affiliate traffic!!) to help get you some extra $ to apply for ccbill's Visa.
Until you offer Visa you're just shooting yourself in the foot. I wouldn't promote a site where I knew that a significant percentage of people who were wanting to sign up, couldn't... and I certainly hope you disclose this gotcha to your affiliates!
