sorry for your loss.. not that this would have helped, but buy a gun if you don't have one.. these people usually come back, as other posters have said.
gotta protect your family. if you've never fired a handgun, don't just buy one and put it away. learn to use it. nothing more dangerous than having a weapon you have no idea how to use.
