Years and years ago someone did this with a garden gnome. But they literally traveled the world with it. This has been repeated 100's if not thousands of times. I suspect that's where Travelocity got their gnome mascot idea from.

What's REALLY fun is decorate a friend's house for them. Using EVERY possible light you can find, every possible tacky lawn ornament, etc. Even better if you can take them from close neighbor's homes.

Then there's putting 100's of "For Sale" signs or pink flamingos in someone's yard.
