If this statement were true, then why aren't poodles trained to be used in place of bloodhounds for tracking?
Dogs are breed for a specific need, ie hunting, pointing, working, companion, guarding and defense.
For example, Giant Schnauzers & Rottweilers have been breed as guard dogs.
But Dobermans have been breed for self defense, in general it is a non aggressive dog but it can attack when commanded. As opposed to a guard dog which perceives anyone in their territory a threat.
The American Pit Bull Terrier was breed for pit fighting, hence the name pit bull.
Why people choose to have a dog breed for pit fighting as a family pet is beyond me.
But the old saying is still correct, there are no bad dogs, just bad owners.
