Hottest Day in Melbourne in 50 years - Pics

Today reached 43 degree?s here in Melbourne and in some parts of Victoria it reached 47 degree?s, it was that hot that I could not even touch the steering wheel in the car without burning my hands. We are having major bushfires on the outskirts of Victoria which is really sad as so much native bush land is being destroyed and houses and life?s are in danger. I am a good 300 kilometers away from the fires, but the smoke is all over Melbourne as you can see from the pictures I have taken. Normally I have a perfect view of the city from my rooftop. I have to praise the efforts of our Victorian firefighters, putting there life?s on the line for us all, we owe them big time.

It has been like this for the last three days, but as of 4:14pm this afternoon the temperature has gone down to 27 degree?s in the space of 15 minutes, that really makes me laugh about Melbourne, I don?t think I know of a place any where in the world where the temperature can change so dramatically.

The cool change is welcome though, we are expecting rain tonight which will be great for the bushfires.

This is what my rooftop normally looks like
