many countries have serious laws about transporting data in and out of the country with strong encryption. i haven't paid much attention to it in recent years and do dont claim to know anything about it, but i do know that it wasn't too long ago that there were legal limits everywhere. i remember a time when a version of Windows had its launch delayed in Russia because it had 128 bit encryption and they did not allow anything beyond 48 bit encryption (or something like that).
In fact, this is the reason PGP itself was forced out of the US (the creators as well)... the government came after them because they were breaking the law. its just something to consider is your main reason is "travel" - you have to comply with the laws of the country you are visiting. ... you can find yourself is serious violation of export laws, espionage etc.
