Mine is the same. Sometimes even after checking it 3 or 4 times, I'll drive down the street, turn around to come back and check again.
I've tried to control it by having a certain point in the street after which I'm not allowed to come back and check the door anymore, no matter how much it bothers me. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't.
