Cruising back from Chicago, not really paying attention to the speed or speed limit, just talking with goodgirl, when we go past a car going the other way. Nothing about it caught my attention, except that I noticed that soon after passing me he was swinging a U-turn in my direction.

After a few seconds I asked goodgirl, "what's the speed limit here anyway?"

"I don't know. Why, how fast are you going?"

"I don't know, but I have a feeling it was too fast," as the red lights went on.

Have to say, the cop was fairly decent about it, knocking the violation down to 70 to lessen the fine a little. But hell, after seeing the amount, I may just have to open it up.

$120!! It would have been $350 in LA. This is a steal.
