Yeah. I give that speech every now and then... But I try to cycle through my speeches, so it has been a while. ;)
The quick version, for the punters...
1. England is the biggest country on the island of Great Britain.
2. The United Kingdom comprises England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. (In fact, the name is technically "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".)
3. Great Britain is the island that England, Scotland, and Wales are on. The biggest island in a series of islands to the northwest of western europe.
Scotland and Wales are separate nations, part of the same unified country. They have their own rich histories, as well as regional governments. Their relation to the United Kingdom is the same as England's, though England is larger. Scotland is *not* in England.
