I don't think this is a good thing.
I say this because I see it as a limitation on personal freedom, and I don't think that a local government should be deciding what I can or cannot eat. Should ice cream be banned? Eating ice cream certainly isn't good for you, either.
I see this as exactly the same as banning smoking. I hate cigarette smoke. But I think that a restaurant should be able to allow smoking if they choose. I have a choice to not go into a restaurant if I don't want to be around smokers. I don't have "a right" to eat in a restaurant and have it my way. If that were the case I'd have my meals served to me by pantyless 18 year old cheerleaders.
I believe in the free market system.
I think you'll see a lawsuit from this one, because unlike their argument about smoking in that it's harmful in a secondhand nature (which is 99.997 bullshit) eating trans fat is only going to potentially harm the person eating it.
