Bureaucrats
Even small time bureaucrats are a pain in the ass. I applied for a business license four or five weeks ago. After a couple of weeks I called about the status. I was told the lady that handles that department was not in and was given her voice mail number. I left a message, and she did not get back to me. I called multiple times over the next several days and nada. I finally drove down to city hall and was told that she would be back at 3:00. I went back at 3:00, spoke with her and she explained that she was behind on her work (no shit, she is never there), but she would take care of the matter that very day and I would have my license mailed to me within in few days. That was about two weeks ago. I don't feel comfortable about launching an advertising campaign without the license in hand. Patience is not one of my virtues.
