he was reffering to the drinking of bhang lassi. which i thought was a strange thing to use as a defense, being as all he spoke about was himself smoking up until that point.
i think its funny that anyone would use religion as a defense for drug use though. yes hindu's use marijuana for its entheogenic properties, and believe it was a gift from the shiva or however the story goes (i'm not THAT knowledgable on the topic). but come on, hinduism isn't the only religion to has used entheogenic substances for religious practices. thousands of years ago people didn't know any better than the explain the effects these substances had on them, than to claim it was some spiritual effect. we know better than that these days. plain and simple it gets you high because it just has that chemical effect on you, not because you're connecting to god in any particular way. religion as a whole was born out of a more primitive man's mind to explain things which he could not logically explain to himself. we're beyond that now, religion is obsolete...
