I need a spam filtering solution, any suggestions?
Problem:
1a.) The spam filtering that is being ran now needs to receive a copy of their own Quarantine report so each user can see the messages that were filtered out and release the message if they want to OR even whitelist a sender so the sender does not get trapped again.
1b.) The filter attempts to do some sort of lookup on the senders mailserver that would HOLD the mail suspended until it got a positve response from the mailserver identifying it as legitimate mail. The filter would do this for each unique sender once a day. This all too often results in e-mail messages getting held in suspension and not being delivered because the senders mailservers were"NOT CONFIGURED" properly.
I initially put the blame on the senders even if the sender was running 8 mail servers with 500,00 clients. I now have come to figure out that the customer has no REAL control over this and it's my job to do what I can to ensure that LEGITIMATE mail is not being refused because some WEINER somewhere has a stitch or setting wrong. OH...BTW...these messages never showed up in the Quarantine report, so I had no idea where or what the messages were. The confirmation process that checked the sender's mail server was prior to actual filtering!
SOLUTION: I am looking for a Spam Filtering Solution that I can house on MY exchange server that solves the problems listed above. I'd like at a minimum 5or 6 of my domains with active e-mail accounts to be a part of the filter.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
