Now why would you ask would a government need to do such a thing? To protect it's language. French was dying out, the people were choosing english and if french died, how could the political parties use their language as justification for unique and preferential status in canada?

"English Only" laws having been passed in several states.
BTW, the State of Florida has sent three times delegations to Quebec to study the application of our language laws .... they can"t even write their own ....
