I think you're missing the point.. he's pointing out the SHEER RIDICULOUSNESS of that concept. Quebec has always been a nation in their own mind, they have a strong culture, none of that is a bad thing, and all supported by the rest of the country on many levels. When they are stomping their heels like a spoiled child demanding things simply because they have a pressing need to feel special that it gets on people's nerves. I love Quebec, I love french people, I just don't love the fact that Quebec always seems to care more about it's own agenda than the country as a whole (the country that pours money into the province of Quebec like water, some provinces give more to Quebec than they take themselves). It's almost like reverse-racism... black people who feel that ALL white people are terrible because a few of them hate blacks. Does that make it any better?
I'm glad Stephen Harper acknowledged the French as a nation, so when are the French going to acknowledge Canada as a nation too?
