I think it was meant to give us flexibility as Kennedy also has a physical education program going on at the same time.

If you had ever seen one of the films showing an A-bomb test you would certainly understand the futility of hiding under a wood desk . . . unless it was just meant as kindling.

My mother still has nightmares about nuke drills.

My high school had a fall out shelter in the basement but by the time I got there it was being used for detention..lol
