DMOZ Listing PR

Routinely webmasters seek DMOZ as a commanding factor in Googles page rank. Upon examining the published PR formula this appears to be invalid. DMOZ is mathematically worth .85(DMOZ sub-page Page Rank / Outgoing links). It is true that DMOZ has a high Page Rank but they also have a high number of outgoing links. Spreading the high page rank over all these outgoing links leaves very little for site Z. Is DMOZ weighed heavily elsewhere in Goolgles ranking of sites or is its importance just a myth?

Currently Adultreview.net, one of my sites, is in a holding pattern while waiting for DMOZ acceptance. If DMOZ does nothing important, webmasters should stop wasting their time complying with the strict standards of the open directory.
