in biblical and other religious references to GOD...the almighty, all-knowing, perfect being, from the sky's, who created the heavens and the earth, who created man in HIS image, and to be worshiped, etc...
aliens make perfect sense. aliens created us, in their image. the aliens are GOD.
there are so many ancient depictions of alien-like creatures and/or alien "worship", such as the Nazca Lines of Peru, Sumerian Gods, Egyptian Hieroglyphs, the Myan Calendar.
Reagan's "Star Wars" program? a defense against Soviet missles, or really a defense against alien attacks?
a ham radio operator picked up unencrypted NASA communications on one of the Apollo missions (i think) where one of the astronauts says, "yeah...it's the aliens...yeah...it's the aliens", very matter of factly.
from Nixon White House tapes, he was clearly "this close" to dropping this bomb on the world, but was advised against it for national security reasons.
Johnson and Carter were quite interested in this as well.
with all the resources that the government (not only ours but others) puts into "covering this stuff up", it really makes you wonder...
what the hell do they know that we don't?
most UFOs are just that. i suspect that most credible sightings are super sophisticated experimental military aircraft. makes sense that the government would try to cover these up.
but there are way too many credible reports, especially from pilots, military and commercial, with confirmations from NORAD, to discount alien UFOs.
TRUST NO ONE!
on a side note (i love this stuff!), if there were aliens, they would have to have invented (discovered) time travel, via wormholes perhaps. i doubt that they would be hanging out in our Solar System, undetected.
so...
the closest star (a "sun") to ours is Proxima Centauri, 4 LY away. it would take EIGHT years round trip, traveling at the speed of light! that's just not practical without time travel.
the Milky Way galaxy is about 100,000 light years across, and Earth is about 26,000 LY from the center of it. so traveling at THE SPEED OF LIGHT, it would take 100,000 years to travel end to end. not practical w/o time travel.
the closest galaxy to ours is Andromeda, 2.4 ish MILLION LY from us. um...again, not practical.
keep scaling up the known universe to 14 BILLION LY, some are now saying 200 BILLION...infinity, with an infinite number of "universes"...and it boggles the fucking mind.
if you believe that we are the only ones, then i would say that you MUST believe in GOD, in the traditional sense.
are there civilizations that could reasonably be say 1 BILLION light years ahead of us? can you imagine the technology?
if mankind was just a measly 1 million "regular" years older than we are now, would we have invented/discovered & mastered time travel? how long will it take us so master cold fusion and therefore have an unlimited source of energy at our hands? 1,000 more years? 10,000? that's nothing. teleportation in 10,000 years? less than that?
if humans continue to exist, what kind of technology would we have in 1 million fucking years? would WE be aliens to other less advanced civilizations? methinks yes.
aliens...ah yes... all questions and no answers. and why would such advanced civilizations (aliens) be interested in us when there are probably millions of others? they're just stopping by, taking some samples, and going about their merry way. or, they're just seeing how their experiments are moving along (e.g. US).
i need to take some bong reps.
