doesn't matter when you pop up full screen over my signup page with your own site and my traffic, that i just sold them to click my signup page, has no idea that your site/page is not the one I was sending them to.
Doesn't matter one bit if you use session tracking or cookies, your page is over mine, they don't see mine until they are finished with your site (which they thought is where i sent them). doesn't matter.
