As stated in an
earlier thread, I wanted to order some Thai food, but had zero experience, luckily several GFYer's, including Little Brown Asses and escorpio stepped up with some temptations. Unfortunately, spinach is still not being served around here (which totally sucks . . . I would rather risk the illness and get my spinach, but I digress).
I ended up opting for Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice.
I did not realize they were preparing the meal here, but they brought the main course over, pre-cooked.
.
.
The first dish I tried was the Pad Thai
It was quite enjoyable. It came with a wedge of lime that I utilized about 10 minutes into it, and it was a nice addition. I will probably buy another for the leftovers.
I then tried the Pineapple Fried Rice.
As it is made with shrimp, chicken, cashews, raisins, pineapple, and the menu said it was served in a pineapple shell, I expected it to be almost dessert-like. However, as you can see by the above picture, their idea of a pineapple shell and mine differed significantly, or Thai pineapples just aren't in season.
It was good, but a little dry.
As you can see, there are plenty of leftovers,
and I am stuffed.
For $20, not bad, but I think I will try something else besides the rice next time, or else wait until the pineapple is riper.
