I just finished walking through
http://www.linuxguruz.org/z.php?id=3...p+mysql+apache without the gd support in php (I'll be using ImageMajick instead) but with mod_perl enabled as a DSO.
This was on a production server (don't ask, but holiday support does leave a bit to be desired at times!) with WebMin and vi used to re-configure server_root, etc, etc, and it was a relief to start the new daemons and find everything clicked on the first go.
