Threads like this make me feel old.
Btw, real men care about their parents. If you're lucky enough to have had a mom who cared about you, respected you, provided for you, loved you and raised you right there's not a damn thing wrong with showing the same kind of respect back. In fact it's the right thing to do.
Props to him for having the gonads to post about it openly.
