From my experience a small percentage of people do this to get more interest as their real picture might not be quite so "presentable". However this only works up until the "meet face to face" stage of course.

Just last week I saw a Dating Gold profile with a url in the profile. It went to a Clickcash account that had since been termed.

How am i ignorant of how geotargeting works. I understand some people make fake profiles on dating sites, which is why I gave Lar's the oppertunity to take it down and to explain it. This is not a case of the chathost making the post, that is obvious from her post here. If it was someone advertising another program I would sure like to see which program it was. All I can see from that page is the image and some bullshit information. How do I know that image is being pulled from a user submitted profile ? I don't see the profile I see just a page with a bunch of pictures on that is the same girls every time. How do i know that whole page was not created just for advertising purposes and there are no profiles for those girls. I am sure Lars can clear this up and show me the profile that goes with that image, a ip and time and date of the person who created the profile.
I guess you are also ignorant to the second half of my post which was xmatch targeting xmatch traffic.
