I'd venture to say that most talented artists probably have a good feel for crafting their persona musically and visually -- and if they are about investing that money into their visual environment, then congrats to them... You've got to assume that a guy like "Prince" would have a cool pad... That's one thing that I enjoyed about living in Venice, LA -- wealthy eccentric people that pushed the boundries of "taste"...

I think now in the USA the wealthy tend to cloak themselves with conservative design... words like "understated" and "refined" come to mind... For the most part, the "wealthy" try to impress without being extravagant. These people don't need to or want to be targets for attention unless they are in the entertainment industry...
