I know lots of gay people, and as far as i can tell, a good bunch of them are not mentally ill, but good people! And i can't ever remember a person who is gay tell me that i have a mental illness. So i can only assume that certain people with narrow minds and ignorant lives are the ones with the illness. Get help.
