As you can see 99% uptime leaves a large margin for error.
Yup, I usually refer people to these numbers, as well. I see 95% and 97% a lot of the time, but it's 2 and 1 day of downtime / year. My host has 99.999% uptime - 5 minutes of downtime per year - 25 SECONDS of downtime per month (a little mistake in your table that I quoted). The rest, even 99.99% uptime, are not even close to this...
