Would it matter that I was born and raised in the United States. Does it help that I also am a quarter native American.
Some times shining a light into our darker corners of this country is needed. If it happens to make some people unhappy, so be it. If one has traveled much in our country and not just to the tourist destinations, one would quickly find what I was speaking about in the initial thread. It is almost akin to visiting some place like Jamaica and judging the entire country by the tourist areas and hotels where everything is peachy.
I posted numerous reasons as to why I came to that conclusion in the other thread. I could travel not far from where I reside and quickly be in a place where many would like to pretend does not exist in this country. No and I am not just talking about run down trailers and over grown yards either. I am talking about places that lack any forms of sewer, where fresh water if you want to call it that comes from community wells in bad repair, where residents live in very aerated wooden structures that meet the architectural requirements a five year old backyard fort builder would accomplish. Places with no medical assistance within twenty or more miles to the closest clinic. Where home schooling is not an option it is a requirement.
Should it not bother me that many census polls often ignore places under a certain populations as if they do not count?
Does one need to look past how we handled the onslaught and aftermath of Katrina to not see how screwed up things have become and are in areas that we try to ignore or pretend do not exist?
As for habeas corpus, if the powers that be decide to use the every so scary T word. The rights of habeas corpus no longer will apply if they decide so. Now please feel free to post a list of other countries that puts us on par with.
