your children need new idols.
he was not an important man, and should not be idolized especially by children.
Perople who watch Television all day love Steve irwin, but REAL scientists and people who study nature, usually think people like him do more damage than good, and I agree.

Jean-Michel Cousteau, son of famous ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau, was among the few willing to offer criticism of Irwin?s documentary style. While he mourned the crocodile hunter?s death, Irwin would, said Cousteau "interfere with nature, jump on animals, grab them, hold them, and have this very, very spectacular, dramatic way of presenting things".
"Of course, it goes very well on television. It sells, it appeals to a lot people, but I think it?s very misleading."

When i think of Steve irwin, I think of a man so bent on attention and addicted to fame that he would dangle his kid in front of an alligator to get publicity,... oh wait, he DID that too.
As Cousteau said, jumping and riding on animals isnt the way scientists do it.
