... Sounds like a stupid thing to do :]. Maybe the idea was to block nortons outbound connections (when it contacts liveupdate etc). But seems much easier to stop that via the options in the program itself ;). Just dont use that hostfile, it seems very bloated. Better just to roll your own when you need it.
In Kazaa Lite 2.0.2 the install of that hostfile is disabled by default, just like it should be. Some ppl might find it usefull.. if you dont, just dont use it.
