The boxter is a joke. Its like those VW Bug kits you can buy to make it look like a lambo or ferarri. Its just a base VW car chasis with some tuning and some nice metal and paint work for poor yuppies who are trying to prove something.
If you like to drive fast you could get a Golf GTI VR6 with 200hp stock and tune the thing and it would blow the doors off the Boxter.
You can tune a Honda Accord to go way faster then a boxter, the insurance is lower, parts are less, and its less likely to get stolen.
The real question is are you trying to look like something you haven't achieved yet (a high roller who can afford a carerra) or do you want a sports car (ie: a car with some hp)?
Thats just my opinion though and no offense meant. A car is a personal decision and not really something you should be asking about on the board unless you want reviews on both cars to help you make a decision.
