I just made an ironic comment that going to shows and being known face to face apparently helps in getting all those sales rep/marketing jobs.... even though there are thousands of webmasters who never attends shows and for dealing with them, you don't have any real advantage over f.e. but there are many people on this board who are knowleadgable within this industry, but they don't get jobs offered because they aren't known face to face
