I guess I was SORT of arrested once. When I was living in Calgary I was taking the c-train (sort of like the subway but aboveground), and I lost my ticket. Just so happened that was when the ticket officer came. He didn't believe that I had lost my ticket, so he issued me a $150 offence for not having a proper pass to be on the train. Fine, I was pissed but no big deal. Shortly thereafter my wallet (with the ticket in it) was stolen, and in the midst of running around to replace my ID, I forgot about the ticket. A few months later I get a phonecall from the police saynig they've issued a warrent for my arrest (OVER A BUS TICKET?) and that if I came in today to pay it, there would be no other issues. So fine, I got the money out of the bank and went down to the cop shop to pay my fine. This is where things get ridiculous.

I went in and told them what had been told to me by the officer on the phone, his name, etc. Apparently he was at lunch. I told them I just wanted to pay my fine, he said he was giving one day, etc. What did they do? They threw me in a holding cell. I was ready to go to an interview that day, so I was hella pissed, but I had no idea what the proceedure was. Well, as I'm sitting there (dressed up nice and PROFESSIONALLY as I had an interview at an oil company), the two cops sitting outside my cell started laughign and making fun of my name (Treasure Hunt isn't exactly normal). Then they started asking if I was a hooker and in for turning tricks with a name like that. I was fucking BEYOND furious. I came down VOLUNTARILY to pay my fucking fine and these assholes are sitting there making allegations (I was 18 at the time) and making fun of my name? NOT cool. So the other cop gets back from lunch and the guys stop. He seemed a little taken aback that the other guys put me in the holding cell, let me out, and I proceeded to pay my fine. When I told him what they had done he seemed pissed, and suggested I file a complaint. Believe me, I did, and shortly thereafter one of the officers was suspended without pay (apparently it wasn't his first "offence" of abuse), not sure what happened to the other guy, but I guess that's the closest thing I have to a TRUE arrest story. I was a shit-disturber as a kid, but I never got caught. :P
