Well, go ahead and flame away ... this is what I think ....
If you were in a restaurant sitting right next to me, and gave me a dirty look, the eye, or whatever ... i probably just would have gone on with me conversation. If you cant be an adult and politely ASK that we respect your kids being in earshot in a family restaurant, then I dont feel the need to restrain my speech. If you had turned around, smiled and said "hey, i got a couple of little ones here ...." I prolly would have blushed, apologized and cleaned it up ...at least till you were gone lol.
Scowling at me, making stupid annoyed sounds, sighing, rolling your eyes, giving me dirty looks etc etc is only guaranteed to bring out the attitude in me ...
Now, im glad you prefaced this as saying you were in a family restaurant. There are WAY too many parents out there that think its cool to bring their kids to sports pubs, downtown in the evenings, and non-family restaurants and think they have the right to dictate behavior cause their kids are there, even tho most of the time they SHOULDNT be.
My last comment .. and I'm sure there are plenty of parents here that are gonna jump my shit for this statement ... but hey ... this is GFY right?
If you have small children ... and for me, small is under 10 or 11 .... and you cant control them in public ... you need to pick up your shit, and take them home. Better yet, if your kids are little monsters in public (oh, and you know people like this ... we all do) and you think the right desicion is to "ignore" their bad behavior .... do us all a favor, and leave their asses home.
There is NOTHING more annoying than having a nice dinner, at a nice restaurant, and having to sit next to the couple with their 4 brats that will not shut up, sit down and behave themselves ... they are bouncing walls, screaming, running around the restaurant (or whereever) hitting people with shit, and being all-around disruptive totally distroying your nice relaxing dinner.
anyways, i can go on and on for hours on this one, and im sure ron will be in to tell me how wrong I am on all of this and how I shouldnt blame parents for all the bullshit their little darlings do, but man, im a SO SICK of feeling like a 2nd class citizen because I dont feel the need to procreate lol - parents should take responsibility for their kids, their upbringing and their actions.
In return, I will keep my language clean when asked. deal?
