My dog is a bit 'scared' of my mom's cat as well. Although the 'chase-reflex' comes into play as soon as the cat decides to tease my dog and run away. Luckily the cat is relatively kind and my dog only had a few encounters with the cats claws

I understand the theory of tread lightly, but there was a damn fence in between them . . . he could at least act like he would be tough. Well, I guess I have to give him credit, he did bark a couple times. I think that is when the cat started approaching him and he showed his true colors.
