The BBC executives also agreed that the BBC should broadcast an interview with Osama Bin Laden, despite the offence it would cause.

Who exactly is going to be offended by the broadcasting of an interview with Osama?? If the interview contains any substance or clues on his views - I want to see the fucking thing. There has never been a problem broadcasting an interview with serial killers - why stop with bin Laden who is more relevant than any serial killer.
Unless content is shown - it is similar to asking the public what their views are on a movie, - without them ever having seen the movie.
The majority of media corps who avoid showing footage or bending the warp to avoid (or even ignore) incidents which may offend a nation are not valid news organizations.
