Actually, I think there could be even more simple alternative translations... such as...
1. I got a better offer. I'm outta here.
2. I found God.
3. I was fired.
4. My mom found out what I do.
5. I realized I was in over my head.
6. I just decided to quit. I want to do something else.
7. etc.
