Marriage is primarily for women. Women want security, and that gives them a sense of it. She can't take half if you have the proper documents. If you want children, it gives the child a sense of security as well, IMO. I like being Married, and I liked being single. The benefits to a man being married are that if you want to live with the woman you love, you best make her feel safe and secure, or you should get rid of her and try different girls on like hats.
