Now why would Jay deny a pretty face like her?
LOS ANGELES - Mary Carey, the Legend Video contract star and write-in candidate for California governor, has accused Jay Leno of practicing partisan politicking and not providing equal airtime to gubernatorial candidates.
Leno recently hosted current California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on "The Tonight Show," as Schwarzenegger is currently seeking re-election. Carey was denied from being a guest and is calling foul-play, feeling she should be granted equal air-time even though she is a write-in candidate.
?More people know that I am running for governor than Arnold?s democratic challenger," Carey said. "Our polling results have shown my name to be more recognizable than any other candidate in the race.?
Indeed, Carey's political notoriety has gained traction, as Google announced that the search term ?Mary Carey? was in the top 10 of all search requests made during the week ending Oct. 2, and was the No. 1 female search request.
?I just don?t think it?s fair of Jay to have his friend Arnie on, and not me,? Carey said. ?I think Jay would really like me once he got a chance to meet me. And I?d be a better interview since I?m much cuter and speak better English.?
Carey is currently securing the signatures needed in order to qualify her as an official write-in candidate before the Tuesday deadline. Carey is running as Mary Carey Cook, since her legal name must appear on the ballot.
