Well, again this is an arbitrary number. If a domain make $1000 per year the question is how? If the answer is that you have done nothing with the domain except put up some sponsor ads on it and you haven't promoted it then all the income is from type-in traffic, then yes the domain is worth more than $20. But if the income is from sites you have built on the domain that you are always working on, then really you are selling the sites not the domain. I could register
www.sdjaiorasknfasifenfsaihasd.com and build enough sites on it to make $1000 a month, that doesn't mean the domain by itself is worth anything.
