Use static routing for the whole thing.

Make sure they both have separate ip address's
Let's say wired router = 192.168.1.2 and it's configured to connect to your modem.
Wireless router will need a different ip ex. 192.168.1.1, make sure the wireless router's gateway/dns is set to the wired router(192.168.1.2)

Make sure your laptop is set to connect to the wireless router(192.168.1.1) and not the wired one.

Other then that everything should work. And, like I said set it all up with static ip address's. I hate dynamic NAT
