My Dad has diabetes, and has to do insulin shots... his arms and legs are all scarred up, from wounds that won't heal. It's some nasty stuff. Eventually, amputation may be needed if gangreen (spelling) sets in. All because of too much sugar in his blood.

Hypoglycemia is the beginnings of diabetes, if it goes untreated, and you don't slow down your sugar intake, you will most likely get diabetes.

Your pancreas produces your body's insulin based on your sugar intake. If you quit sugar "cold-turkey" you could do some major damage. I would highly recommend "slowing down" your sugar intake for a while, and ween yourself off of it if you really want to stop.

Those "withdrawls" you are experiencing are your body's "warning sign" that it needs the sugar. I tried to quit sugar "cold-turkey" a few years ago, and ended up in the hospital emergency room. I had pains in my pancreas region, and ended up blacking out, not breathing, with my roommate smacking the shit out of me to wake up... I was out for like 10 minutes... I couldn't see with my eyes open, I couldn't hear, and the next thing I knew I was being revived by an EMT with an oxygen mask, and a light shining in my eyes.

Very scary shit. Just be careful with radically changing your diet. In any case, I would recommend slowly modifying it until you get to where you want to be. Sort of like "retraining" your body for a new diet.

Anyhow, I don't want to write a novel here (already have), but, just wanted to look out for you, and share some of what I've expierenced.
